Jenny Bolton has been involved in the music business and performing since a very early age - entering talent contest at "Butlins" Holiday Camps and winning several holidays for the family.

Jenny has always loved singing and performing, she won her first competition when she was 5 years old as well as appearing on Opportunity Knocks! At 7 years of age she sang at the London Hilton Cabaret Spot. Moving to London at this time made it possible for Jenny to go to the Italia Conti School and later attend Sylvia Young’s Theatre School from 13 years of age.

Jenny’s musical expressions cover several genres such as R&B, Happy Hardcore, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Pop and Dance music in general. Early influences were icons of the past such as her Dad’s Beatles collection and her brother’s Kate Bush albums. Later she began creating her own collection which consisted of Motown classics such as the likes of Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye. “I still love Motown” she claims. Bob Marley is a big player in Jenny’s house, including UB40, Annie Lennox, Lisa Stansfield, Cindy Lauper and of course Madonna. It really depends on Jenny’s mood. Other days you may hear Triple J!, Phats & Small, Texas or Ultra Nate.

Jenny has worked with artists such as Boy George, Bananarama and many other chart toppers of the 80’s when she sang on the single “Let it be” the Zebbrugga Disaster record. In 1989 Jenny did backing vocals for Imagination’s Italian tour (a soul group of the 80’s) . She also worked with James Brown’s old backing band at a club in Georgia, USA. Throughout the years Jenny has appeared at many venues from The Zap Club in Brighton to The Fubar in Scotland and too many others to mention from coast to coast.

Jenny has been with Stage One for four and a half years now. In that time she has been collaborating on some of their labels and has produced a lengthy catalogue. Her most popular release is “Follow the Sun” on the Clued label. To date Matt Carlton has been engineering Jenny’s tracks - a job she hopes to master herself in the future. You are most likely to hear her back catalogue being played on Jimmy J’s decks.

Jenny is a full time mum aswell as a Diva. Her plans for the future are to enjoy a No. 1 album and be happy. She would love to do a film, about a girl who is trying to make it in the music business as well as write the soundtrack! Who can stop her?
