Single InformationCatalogue Number : EAST32 Release Date : 2000 Label : East Side Genre(s) : Drum n Bass
"East Side Records proudly presented the first solo release from the X-Men. They were the latest crew to hook up with the East Side stable,it is a collaboration between Marcus Intalex and Future Cut, two of Manchester’s top Drum ‘n’ Bass producers.
Over the past six months they had their material released on several highly respected labels such as Renegade Hardware and 31 Records, leaving a trail of destruction behind them.
First up was “Hangmanâ€, which started off with a smooth intro that led into chopped percussion, steppin’ beats, smooth bass lines, piercing string hooks, random bleeps and analogue stabs. On the flip side was “Swordfishâ€. This was a string-introduced stormer that made good use of multiple old skool breaks, mysterious pads, 808 percussion hits and deep raw analogue bass lines. Both tracks got good reactions from the record buying public and were heard in sets by DJs such as Hype, Zinc and Kenny Ken." |
