The Robbs Electrical EP has, if anything, more “layers” than it’s predecessor, together with complex sample collage and many intuitive musical contributions.

These qualities combine to create a wealth of moods and textures, which while spiralling out in many directions are skilfully pulled together into one compelling whole.

From the expansive, jarring developments of “2 bookends and a slim volume”, through the mildly disturbing “hedonist”, into “knowall’s” Costa - del - freaky groove and finally the nod-worthy, self-examination that is “brain thing”, Matthew guides the listener through an absorbing 25 minutes of deep, but playful, inventiveness.
